Guests of the Subsix restaurant can now have their dinner next to ocean life. Created by architecture and interior design agency Poole Associates the restaurant has been transformed from a nightclub into a unique dining spot that is set against the Indian Ocean.
Located in the Per Aquum Niyama resort in the Maldives, the restaurant is six-meters below the waterline. To reach it, guests have to travel via a speedboat to the 500-meter offshore site.
Upon arrival, guests then have to descend a three-tier staircase that is decorated and lit with chandeliers that reflect the sea’s surface, before you head down further into the dining hall.
The design of the restaurant, in such close proximity to ocean life allows guests to view nearly 100 different coral reef species in their natural habitat. As an addition to the coral reef species Parrot Fish, Moray Eels and Butterfly fish can also be spotted through the restaurant’s windows.
