Tor Bay Harbour Authority
Tor Bay Harbour Authority part of Torbay Council has commissioned Unit Seven to produce its latest Tor Bay Maritime Guide. The Maritime Guide is designed to be of particular interest to locals, visitors and especially boat owners and contains general information about Tor Bay Harbour.
This was the creative bureau’s first collaborative project with members Fruition Creative Services and Silver Foxes Publishing who worked closely together to develop a more engaging guide for the people of Torbay, with skillfully crafted editorial content. Unit Seven were also responsible for selling the advertising space within the guide.
Mark Green, partner of Unit Seven and Creative Director of Unit Seven said “Tor Bay Harbour Master Kevin Mowat asked us for some ideas on how to rejuvenate the format of the Tor Bay Harbour Guide. Our first suggestion was that we make the publication more in keeping with a magazine format with increased editorial content. As a result of the change in format, advertising space was quickly snapped up and we were able to quickly raise the income required to implement the second part of our recommendation – the development of a Tor Bay Harbour maritime mobile app.”
Kevin Mowat, Executive Head of Tor Bay Harbour Authority said: “The design team have been really creative and they have successfully transformed our Harbour Guide into a new product. We now have a fresh looking publication but with all the essential information that our users will need to enjoy the use of Tor Bay, it’s coastline and the three enclosed harbours of Brixham, Torquay and Paignton. It has been a collaborative approach from the beginning and we are looking forward to the delivery of the new mobile app.”
The Guide reveals the available facilities, local clubs and opportunities for all, the beaches and coves and useful safety advice for maritime users. It contains detailed maps of the three harbours, safety information, useful contacts and where you can enjoy the watersports the area is known for.
