We can’t believe it’s already that time of year again – the John Lewis Christmas ad has just been rolled out.
With only 49 days to go until the big one, John Lewis have taken the internet by storm with another one of their festive tear jerkers.
This years advert has been created in collaboration with Age UK, the largest charity working with older people, who hope that this years festive campaign will help raise thousands of pounds for the charity.
Set to the classic Oasis song Half The World Away, ‘Man on the Moon’, features a young girl, Lily, who spots and elderly man living alone in a shed on the moon. After many failed attempts, Lily manages against the odds (and the science), to deliver a telescope to the man on the moon, he uses it to find Lily on Earth and they share a touching moment as the advert ends with them both waving at each other.
The two-minute short – managed by advertising agency Adam&Eve/DBB doesn’t stray too far from John Lewis’ well-known formula (and why should they!), it’s really beautifully shot and is slowly becoming part of Christmas tradition.
